Each member in good standing is encouraged to submit a proxy vote to be cast in the member’s behalf to elect another member to serve on the credit union’s Board of Directors.
The Universal 1 Credit Union Nominating Committee has nominated for re-election Jeffrey W. Gammell, Jessica O. Jones, and Jason A. Kershner. All are seeking a three-year term on the Board of Directors. The Nominating Committee includes Chairperson Michael P. Thonnerieux, Washington Township, Makell C. Baccus, Montgomery County Department of Job and Family Services, and Mo Dillon, Sinclair Broadcast Group.
Candidates were nominated based on individual qualifications, past association with the Credit Union and personal concern for representing the interests of fellow Credit Union Shareowners. All Directors, with the exception of the President/CEO, volunteer their time while serving on the Board. The candidates for the Board of Directors are:
JEFFREY W. GAMMELL
Jeffrey Gammell has been a Partner with Gammell, Ross & Hoshor, LLC since 2010 and CEO and State Licensed Title Insurance Agent for M & M Title Company since 1986. Mr. Gammell is a graduate of Salmon P. Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University. He also received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Ohio University. He previously served as a Board of Trustee and President of the Ohio Land Title Association. He is also a member of numerous Professional and Community Groups. Mr. Gammell joined the Universal 1 Credit Union Board of Directors in 2017 and became Chairman in 2024.
JESSICA O. JONES
Jessica Jones has been President/CEO of the Universal 1 Credit Union since October 2021. She began her career at the Credit Union in 2014. She graduated from American Public University, earning a M.B.A. degree in Finance and earned a bachelor’s degree in Business at Miami University. She currently serves as a Board Chair for the Ohio Credit Union League. She also sits on the Executive Committee for the Dayton Chamber of Commerce. Mrs. Jones has received many community awards but is most proud of the work that Universal 1 Credit Union provides to our communities.
JASON A. KERSHNER
Jason Kershner was promoted to Associate Vice President in 2024 at Charter Communications. He previously held various positions such as Regional Senior Director – State Government Affairs and Director Government Affairs. He has worked at Charter Communications since 2018. Mr. Kershner graduated from the University of Cincinnati and earned a bachelor’s degree in Communication. He currently serves on various Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Committees and is a Board member of REDI Cincinnati. Mr. Kershner volunteers his services for many other community organizations including being a committee member of United Way Public Policy. Mr. Kershner joined the Universal 1 Credit Union Board of Directors in 2022 and serves on various committees.
