RIVERSIDE, Ohio – Stebbins High School wrapped up the seventh annual Unity in the Community campaign with rival Fairborn High School by hosting its Unity Blood Drive.

Though Stebbins and Fairborn may compete on the field, they’re united when it comes to saving lives. Their ongoing partnership with Versiti and Universal 1 Credit Union (U1) shows how teamwork—and a shared commitment to community—can make a powerful impact.
Since 2018, the two schools have joined forces in the Unity in the Community initiative. Each year, both rivals host a CBC blood drive and take turns selecting a local charity to receive the $1,000 Unity in the Community Award sponsored by U1. This year, Fairborn selected the Mad River Lions Club Community Outreach Foundation. The Mad River Lions Club is part of Lions Clubs International—a global network of more than 1.3 million volunteers across 45,000 clubs in over 200 countries—working together to meet the needs of communities around the world.
A big thank-you goes out to everyone who made the Fairborn–Stebbins Unity in the Community blood drive a success. To the students, staff, donors, and partners at Versiti—your teamwork and generosity show the impact rivals can make when they come together. Thanks to you, lives are being saved and our community is stronger than ever.
Every day, patients in our region rely on blood transfusions to survive and recover. That critical need is met by generous donors who ensure a safe, reliable blood supply. You can be a hero in your own community—donate blood and help save lives.
Versiti is located at 349 South Main Street in Dayton. Walk-ins are welcome, or you can schedule a donation by calling 937-461-3220 or visiting VersitiDayton.org.
