We're upgrading our core processing system to modernize and improve our infrastructure and deliver an even better banking experience. The core processing system is the internal software and supporting hardware that U1 uses to maintain member deposit and loan accounts, process transactions, and support services such as debit cards and Online Banking. The upgrade is scheduled for Labor Day Weekend (August 29 - September 2, 2025).
The process will start at 5:00 pm on August 29th and we anticipate to finish by noon on Tuesday, September 2, 2025. Online Banking will be unavailable and all Service Centers will be closed during this time and will reopen at noon, September 2, for business as usual. We expect the upgrade to be smooth and easy, but we’re here to help with any questions you may have.
The upgrade will mark a major step forward in our commitment to remain at the forefront of banking technology. Our employees will be able to provide members better service in terms of speed and efficiency. In addition, the upgraded system will allow us to develop additional product features and services in the future.
Upgrading our system will unlock a range of benefits, including improving your experience. Ultimately, this will assist in providing members with the convenience and flexibility expected in today's digital age.
Account numbers will remain the same, however, the suffix will now include four digits instead of two. Currently, the suffix number is the last two digits after the main account number, which indicates the account type, like Savings or an Auto Loan. For example, if the account is ‘1234567-89’, it will become ‘1234567-1101’. Below is a sample of both a current and new statement, with the suffix circled.

After the upgrade, if a member has multiple accounts with U1, the account associated with the oldest (longest-standing) member number will be retained.
Yes, you can keep using your same checks and cards, with no changes required. The number printed on checks will not change.
Payments scheduled to occur during the upgrade will be processed as soon as the System Upgrade is complete (we're anticipating 12:00 pm on Tuesday, September 2).
You will not be able to set up new loan payments or cancel existing payments during the upgrade weekend.
Statements will remain the same, however, members will receive two statements - one for transactions before the upgrade weekend (August 30 - September 2, 2025), and another for transactions during and after the upgrade in a new consolidated format with all the accounts you’re associated with.
Wire transfers should be submitted prior to the System Upgrade (by 5:00 pm, Friday, August 29, 2025). Wires already scheduled will still go through as usual - just as they would on a normal holiday weekend.
You should still know where to find your account number, in case you need to update any information, such as for your Direct Deposit.
You can locate your number on your Statements in the top right corner or within your Online Banking account. To view this, log in to Online Banking, under “My Accounts”, click your main Savings account. You’ll be taken to the Account History page and there you will see a dropdown menu titled: “Account Details”. Click that and locate the ACH number for your full account number.
While we won't be able to review or complete applications during the System Upgrade weekend, all information will be retained, and the review process will be completed as normal after the upgrade is complete.
Yes, the safekeeping of member account and personal information is U1's top priority. Personal data and account information will be safe and secure throughout the entire upgrade process.
Yes, for Online Banking users with only one login or username, your Online & Mobile Banking username and password will remain the same.
Members who currently manage multiple member accounts with separate usernames and passwords will now see all their accounts consolidated under one login. The login with the oldest member account will be retained as the primary, and all associated accounts will be accessible through that single username and password.
Be sure to note your member number prior to the System Upgrade Weekend. This will help prevent any issues or interruptions to your day-to-day banking during the transition. To view this within your Online Banking account, log in to Online Banking, under “My Accounts”, click your main Savings account. You’ll be taken to the Account History page and there you will see a dropdown menu titled: “Account Details”. Click that and locate the ACH number for your full account number.

Yes, Online and Mobile Banking dashboards will appear different with a new look and feel. Members will now only need one username to see all of their accounts. Members who currently manage multiple member accounts with separate usernames and passwords will now see all their accounts consolidated under one login. The oldest member account (the member number that has been active the longest) will be retained as the primary, and all associated accounts will be accessible through that single username and password. This will allow members to manage all of their accounts in one place without needing to sign into each individual account.
Plus, primary account owners who are also a joint owner on an account under a different member number will see a consolidated view of those accounts within Online and Mobile Banking.
Other changes and enhancements include user customization options and easier navigation. There will be no changes to account preferences, settings, Bill Pay, automatic transfers, deposits, etc. The changes are purely visual and navigational, designed to make the experience more user-friendly.

With the system upgrade, some account names or descriptions may have changed. You can customize how your accounts appear by adding nicknames:
-
Online Banking: Click Settings in the top right corner of your Online Banking dashboard, then choose Account Preferences to add a custom nickname.
-
Mobile App: Tap the Settings gear icon, then select Account Preferences to update your account names.
This allows you to label your accounts however you prefer.
With the upgrade to our new system, you may notice a few changes in how your accounts and transactions are displayed in Online or Mobile Banking.
-
Account Order: Accounts may now appear grouped by type—for example, Checking accounts listed together, followed by Savings, then Loans, etc. If you've set up Account Nicknames, those will override the default order and be sorted alphabetically.
-
Account Details: Some information that was previously visible may no longer be displayed.
-
Transaction Descriptions: Descriptions for past transactions may appear slightly different due to the System Upgrade. This is a normal part of the upgrade process and does not affect the actual transaction details.
These changes are part of enhancing the overall Online and Mobile Banking experience. If you have questions or need help customizing your view, please reach out to Member Support: 800-543-5000 option 0 or memberservices@u1cu.org
